Michael Thomas is a Perth based Cinematographer specialising in commercials, corporate, branded content, travel, and narrative productions, and has worked on projects across Australia and internationally since 2017.

After studying film for three years at TAFE and the WA Screen Academy, he began working as a Cinematographer, Camera Assistant, and Editor across a wide range of project types and different sized productions. This range of experience has helped him develop strong adaptability across a variety of production environments.

He is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society, holds a Remote Pilot Licence, and owns an array of professional equipment.

Michael is passionate about understanding a project’s purpose and emotional intent, working closely with key creatives to solve problems and bring ideas to life. He adapts his visual style to each project, translating creative intent into emotive imagery through lighting, composition, and camera to meet the needs of clients and productions.
